EK increases fuel surcharges
EMIRATES has increased fuel surcharges for all tickets issued
on or after January 21. This decision follows recent rises in the
cost of jet fuel. Bookings ticketed on or before January 20 will
be issued at previous surcharge levels. Group bookings made on
or before January 21 will be honoured at approved group fares
if a non-refundable 25% deposit has been received. Any group
bookings where deposits have not been received by the deadline
will be subject to review based on the new fuel surcharge level. The
increase is per sector and based on the routing.
AF now offers 24/7 assistance
AIR France now offers its customers 24/7 assistance on the social
networks. If clients have a question about their trip, a doubt about
their flight time or wish to modify a reservation, AF answers them
directly on its official Facebook page and on Twitter by using
#AirFrance. The service is provided in French and English.
KLM introduces app for iPad
KLM has introduced a unique 3D design app for iPad usage.
Travellers can access services such as searching for future trip ideas,
booking, check-in, seat selection and an in-app boarding pass.
The tablet app is available in 11 languages. It will be developed for
Android users later this year. In other news the airline is to launch
new services from Amsterdam to Bilbao, Spain; and Zagreb, Croatia.
The services will only be available during the summer season, which
runs from May to October. The Bilbao service starts on May 26 and
flights to Zagreb commence May 27. Both services end on
October 25.
