The airports that offer the most connections are…

Aviation analytics company Cirium has released a report detailing the airports that were the most globally connected in 2022. The data gathered from airports around the world shows how many connections each offered last year.  

Frankfurt Airport secured the top position, with connections offered to 330 airports globally. Its top route was London Heathrow, with 100 flights per week. 

Istanbul Airport came second, with 309 connections, followed by Paris-Charles De Gaulle with 308. 

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport ranked fourth with 293 connections, followed by Chicago O’Hare International Airport with 278. 

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was placed sixth with 269 connections, followed by Dubai International Airport with 262 and London Heathrow with 242. 

In ninth and tenth place were Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Rome with 239 connections and Denver International Airport with 226.

From eleventh to twentieth place for connectivity were:  

Vienna International Airport (221),  

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (220),  

Munich International Airport (216),  

Adolfo Suárez Madrid – Barajas Airport (214),  

London Gatwick and Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (213),  

Barcelona-El Prat Airport and Manchester Airport (210),  

London Stansted Airport (209), and  

Zurich Airport (205).
