Antigua and Barbuda has suspended visa-free access to individuals travelling from any African country due to global health concerns, including the spread of Ebola in parts of the continent.
During a cabinet meeting last week, government reviewed ongoing developments relating to Ebola and other infectious diseases affecting certain regions, and reaffirmed policies of maintaining heightened vigilance and preparedness.
As part of the precautionary measures, Antigua and Barbuda said visa waivers would not be granted to individuals travelling from any African country.
African nationals applying for visas to visit Antigua and Barbuda will be required to disclose their travel history for the preceding 45 days as part of the visa application and screening process.
Individuals who had recently travelled to countries or regions affected by Ebola or other known serious viral outbreaks would be denied entry visas, the government said in a statement.
