Azamara Cruises has expanded its destination immersion programme with the introduction of ‘Discover What the Locals Know’ across its 2026-2027 Mediterranean sailings.
The programme highlights cultural experiences, including small-group excursions led by locals, exclusive entry to European film festivals and artisan workshops and immersive culinary journeys.
'Discover What the Locals Know' cultural experiences include:
- Seven-night Best of the Mediterranean Cruise: Florence, Genoa and Marseille – visit one of Florence's historic cinemas during Festival dei Popoli, to watch documentaries.
- Seven-night Best of the Mediterranean Cruise: Saranda, Catania, and Amalfi Coast –celebrate composer Vincenzo Bellini's birthday with a citywide musical tribute known as Maratona Belliniana.
- Nine-night Spain Intensive Cruise: Valencia, Cartagena and Seville – join locals at Seville's European Film Festival.
- Eight-night Italy Intensive Cruise: Portofino, Florence and Porto Santo Stefano – harvest olives with locals and visit a family-run frantoio to taste the season's first olive pressings.
- Seven-night Christmas Cruise: Florence, Mahon and Palma – experience the Piazza del Duomo Market, offering handcrafted gifts, holiday sweets, nativity displays, choirs, and more.
