BA signs up for new passenger revenue accounting solution

British Airways has become the first airline to sign up for Amadeus’s new Passenger Revenue Accounting Solution.

The web-based system employs state-of-the-art technology to transform revenue accounting into a fast, flexible strategic function.

The new system aims to help airlines increase revenue and decrease operational costs and make revenue decisions more quickly and accurately. Current accounting processes are often slow to recognise revenue, whereas the new system offers real-time mostly automated data acquisition and processing.

British Airways is scheduled to move to the new system in early 2014. The airline will benefit from the full integration with the Amadeus Altéa solution of which the airline is a long-standing customer.

Amadeus’s passenger revenue accounting solution responds to the airline industry’s requirements for a fully integrated, fully scalable, paperless solution that is adaptable to support partnership agreements such as alliances, joint ventures and mergers, whilst complying with new market or industry trends, such as electronic miscellaneous documents or simplified interline settlement.

The system is available to all airlines wishing to implement a new passenger revenue accounting solution and can be integrated with the rest of their passenger services applications.
