Better late than never: park opens

FOLLOWING a "strange year" of late and erratic rainfalls in the Namaqualand region, the Skilpad Section of the Namaqua National Park (NNP) is finally in bloom and has opened to the public.
So reports project manager for the NNP, Matthew Norval, who says Namaqualand in the Northern Cape is usually in full bloom by July, which is when the park is scheduled to open.
"However, the Skilpad Section is now a mass of orange daisies and visitors taking the time to walk some of the short trails will be rewarded with a spinning diversity of spring annuals and bulbs."
