Big changes for Wendy Wu in SA

09 Dec 2015 - by Debbie Badham

ROYAL African Discoveries,

which is the agent for

Wendy Wu Tours in the

South African market, will

no longer represent the

brand, come January 1.

Wendy Wu’s seat-in-coach

business will take on new

representation in the South

African market. It is not

yet clear who the new GSA

will be. Meanwhile, Royal

African Discoveries will

retain the custom-tailored

business, which will operate

under a new brand –

Discoveries Worldwide.

“During the last few years

we’ve seen an increasing

demand for custom-tailored

programmes and we’ve

now reached a stage

where our custom-tailored

business far exceeds the

scheduled seat-in-coach

group business. In order

to expand this part of the

business and avoid trade

restrictions under the

Wendy Wu Tours brand, we

are launching the brand

Discoveries Worldwide,”

says Johan Groenewald, md

of Royal African Discoveries.

The new brand will still

make use of all the same

suppliers and DMCs across

the various destinations in

Asia in which the Wendy Wu

brand operated, he says.
