Bonjour Cape Town!

Cape Town will shortly return to Air France’s winter schedule, with three flights a week, starting October 31.

Cape Town is just one of the airline’s stations where flights have been, or will be resumed, after having been closed down at the start of the pandemic. Five of these are due to be relaunched, or have recently started again. They are:

Fortaleza, Brazil, three weekly flights from October 22.
Mahé, Seychelles, two weekly flights from October 23.
Hong Kong, China, one weekly flight from November 5.
Seattle, US, three weekly flights from December 6).
Port Louis, Mauritius, seven weekly flights from October 5.

Additionally, Air France says it has four new destinations in its network this winter, departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle:

*Zanzibar, 2 weekly flights linked to Nairobi, started October 18.
*Muscat, 3 weekly flights from October 31.
*Colombo, 3 weekly flights from November 1.
*Banjul, 4 weekly flights from November 1.

The airline says it intends to progressively increase capacity to and from the US, where it serves 11 destinations (New York JFK, Boston, Washington DC, Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles) with up to 100 weekly flights.

By March 2022, Air France expects to return to around 90% of its 2019 capacity, by adding frequencies to key destinations such as New York, Miami or Los Angeles, and by using larger capacity aircraft.
