The UAE yesterday, January 26, announced the resumption of arrivals and transits from a group of 12 countries in Africa. Passengers from these countries, or who have passed through these countries, have been barred from entering since the advent of the Omicron Covid variant.

Passengers from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Congo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe will be accepted from January 29.

The conditions for entry for the above passengers are not yet known, nor is it yet understood if this applies to vaccinated passengers only. Industry is awaiting an announcement from Emirates.
