United Airlines will offer year-round daily services New York (Newark) to Johannesburg from the northern hemisphere Spring season in 2021 (starts March 2021). This means they will provide the only roundtrip non-stop service from the US to Johannesburg by a US carrier, according to Patrick Quayle, United's vp International Network and Alliances.
In other news, the airline will reintroduce its seasonal direct non-stop New York - Cape Town services, commencing December 11, for the second year running.
United plans to use the Boeing787-9 Dreamliner on both routes.
The routes are subject to government approval.
