Bulgaria has new travel restrictions. Travellers can present either a COVID vaccination certificate or a negative test result. Failing that, they will need to self-isolate for 10 days, with the option of taking a PCR test on the third day to shorten the self-isolation period. If the result is negative, they can end their quarantine.
The COVID-19 vaccine types that are accepted by Bulgarian border control authorities can be found at https://coronavirus.bg/
Travellers can transit Bulgaria without presenting COVID-19 vaccination recovery or testing documents, but must complete a declaration on arrival. Restrictions at some European land borders, including with Bulgaria, may affect road and rail travel. Travellers are advised to check travel advisories for all countries to which they intend to travel before departure.
Mask-wearing in indoor spaces and crowded areas is highly recommended but not mandatory, and access to indoor or outdoor venues does not require proof of vaccination or a negative test result.
