The relaxation of the COVID-19 restrictions has seen a return to ‘normality’ for Limpopo’s tourism sector, including the return of business events.

Acting CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA), Moses Ngobeni, said this included the Continuous Professional Development-accredited Biennial Symposium 2022 for the South African Institute of Agricultural Engineers (SAIAE) in partnership with South African National Convention Bureau and LTA.

The event will be held from September 21-13 at Fairview Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort in Tzaneen, Limpopo, and gives tour operators the opportunity to provide agritourism-focused packages.

“We have established that agricultural and all engineers practising in the agricultural industry are generating world-class solutions in government departments – nationally and provincially – the private sector and in research organisations,” said SAIAE President, Thabo Mavundza.

Over the years, this event has hosted over 200 local and international engineers and scientists, who have shared knowledge and insight on local and international case studies, cutting-edge technology in the agricultural sector, and launched new, exciting and innovative solutions in the agricultural industry.

“Alongside making this successful bidding as the ideal host destination for the symposium, this gives us an opportunity to grow agritourism in the province. We urge our tour operators to take advantage of this opportunity and engage with the production facility owners to develop agritourism-related packages,” said Ngobeni.
