Sector Education and
Training Authority (Cathsseta)
will review its provincial
footprint and consider the
establishment of provincial
offices.
Pumzile Kedama, who has
taken over the leadership of
Cathsseta since the authority
was put under administration
in October last year, gave
delegates a holistic overview
of the Seta’s 2013/2014
performance, which included
its achievements, challenges
and a brief outlook of the
future. He said, following the
disbandment of the board,
joint working committees
would be established to
represent all provinces and
sectors.
Pumzile added that
Cathsseta would review
all funding of events and
conferences to ensure that
the events in which Cathsseta
took part were aligned to
the organisation’s strategic
objectives. Funding for all other
events would be terminated.
He called on industry
stakeholders to organise
themselves and provide
the authority with
recommendations as a
collective to assist in the
implementation of skills
development initiatives within
the sectors moving forward.
