Today, Wednesday August 30, China eased its pandemic-related travel restrictions for inbound international travellers.
The policy change means that foreign travellers entering the country will no longer have to provide a negative COVID test result.
Since the global pandemic, China has been one of the countries with the tightest restrictions. These restrictions affected Chinese citizens and limited inbound travel for international passengers.
The alteration in policy was announced by the Foreign Ministry of China, Wang Wenbin, on Monday, August 28. This change comes nine months after China’s zero-COVID policy was lifted.
Website traveloffpath.com reported that there were 164 COVID-restriction-free destinations in April and the figure has risen to 206 this month.
