Burley has been
appointed aha

operations
director for the
KZN region from
June. Kevin has previously
worked for National Orion
Hotels, Signature Life
Hotels, Zimbali Forest
Suites, Protea Hotels and
Hilton.
David Todd
has been
appointed the
InterContinental
Hotels Group’s
senior director
of new hotels
in the Indian, Middle East
and Africa region. David
previously held positions
at IHG corporate office and
hotels in the Middle East.
In his new role, he will be
tasked with streamlining
and accelerating IHG’s new
hotel opening process. He
will run various functions
across the corporate
offices in Delhi and Dubai,
and build on existing and
new relationships with
IHG owners and business
partners to achieve
successful openings
of hotels across his
designated region.
Elmi Marais has been
appointed new sales
executive at Fancourt Hotels
South Africa. Elmi has 12
years’ experience in the
hospitality industry and
previously worked at Aquila
Private Game Reserve and
Protea Hotels/Marriott. She
will be based in Cape Town.
Alshanthe Smith and
Elizabeth Msiza have been
appointed new events
co-ordinators by the CSIR
International Convention
Centre, based in Pretoria.
They will be responsible for
ensuring arrangements and
execution of events.
GTA has two new
appointments. Alistair
Roger took up the position
of senior vp global sales
and marketing on July 17.
He moved from LateRooms.
com where he was chief
commercial and operating
officer. Alistair has
previously worked in senior
global sales and marketing
at Hilton International and
Travelocity/Lastminute.com.
He will be based in London.
Hui Wan Chua joined GTA
on August 1 as vp Asia
sales and marketing. She
was previously ceo at Zuji.
com and has held senior
roles in Asia at Travelport
and Abacus. She will be
based in Singapore.
