Condor’s JNB flights begin

Condor kicked off its twice-weekly Johannesburg service on Saturday morning, November 5, with the arrival of its first flight from Frankfurt, where it was met with a water cannon welcome salute.

The Johannesburg flights augment the Cape Town services, which began on October 8.

The Johannesburg to Frankfurt flight, DE2089 departs JNB at 19h15 on Tuesdays and Saturdays, arriving FRA at 05h25 the following day.

The Monday Frankfurt to Johannesburg flight, DE2088, departs FRA at 21h55, arriving JNB at 09h55 the following day.

The Friday Frankfurt to Johannesburg flight, DE2088 departs FRA at 20h25, arriving JNB at 08h25 the following day.

The airline has a presence on the GDSs, and said in September that it was actively wooing the outbound trade to grow its share of South African travellers and added that it offered agent partners nett fares and commissions.

Because of its interline agreements with over 30 airlines, Condor offers SA travellers connections to more than 300 destinations in Europe.

Locally, Condor has interline agreements with FlySafair and Airlink for local and regional flights, connecting to several destinations in Southern Africa and locally, including Durban and Port Elizabeth.

Condor promotes the concept of ‘fly and rail’ – especially to budget-conscious travellers – to travel on to other destinations in Germany from the station inside Frankfurt Airport.
