Contiki launches new Africa trips

Contiki has revealed two trips in Namibia and Botswana featuring treehouse and private safari camp accommodation.

The brand’s updated Africa offering for 2020-2021 will have additional departure dates and a collection of Special Stays and new private camping options, such as glamping-style safari accommodation and traditional African lodges.

Travellers will have the option to stay in treehouse accommodation overlooking the Kavango River in the Caprivi Strip. Other accommodation in the Okavango Delta will include two-person domes with stretchers, mattresses and linen.

The new ethical experiences include a new Protrack Anti-poaching Centre experience near the Kruger National Park (including a donation to the Centre), a visit to Ju/’Hoansi Living Museum Indigenous Village in Namibia, a township tour and school visit (including a donation to the school) in Cape Town, a Magic Beans community youth theatre dinner and show in Botswana, and a visit to a Shanga community project that supports disabled community members in Tanzania.

The new trips include the Okavango Delta, Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Namibia’s Dune 7 and Sossusvlei (Dead Vlei), along with game drives in Etosha National Park and Mahango Game Reserve, among others.
