Airlines have updated their travel restrictions following the decision to declare the new coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The following airlines have suspended selected services to China:
British Airways has suspended its Beijing and Shanghai flights with immediate effect until April 17. Flights to and from Hong Kong remain unaffected.
Delta has suspended all its flights between the US and China until April 30. The airline will adhere to new US government requirements, which will deny entry to foreign nationals who have travelled to China within the past two weeks.
Air Mauritius has suspended all direct flights to Hong Kong until further notice, with effect from February 4. The travel restrictions in force in Mauritius prohibit any foreign national who has resided in, or who has travelled to and from China, the Republic of Korea, and the Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romangna provinces of Italy within the last 14 days boarding any Air Mauritius flight and entry or transit in the Republic of Mauritius .
KLM Air France have extended the suspension on all scheduled flights to and from Shanghai and Beijing until March 28. All flights to mainland China have been cancelled until March 29. The airlines will gradually resume operations to and from Shanghai and Beijing, alternating one daily flight to each destination from March 29. For the time being, service to Wuhan will remain suspended.
Emirates will suspend flights to Guangzhou and Shanghai from February 5 until further notice. The airline has cancelled all flights between Dubai and Tehran from February 26. The airline will continue operations to and from Beijing as scheduled. However, travellers will be subject to additional medical tests when departing PEK, starting February 5. From February 14, the Dubai Health Authority will conduct a COVID-19 test on passengers arriving from Beijing with Dubai as their final destination.
Air Tanzania postponed the launch of its new flight between Dar es Salaam and China until further notice. The airline planned to begin charter flights to China.
Cathay Pacific will reduce the capacity of its flights to and from mainland China by 90% and 40% of its entire network capacity over the next two months. Flight schedule changes are available here.
EgyptAir has suspended all flights to mainland China until March 11. Flights to Hangzhou, Beijing and Guangzhou are also suspended until further notice.
Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines have suspended all flights to and from mainland China until March 28. Nanjing, Shenyang and Qingdao will not be served until the end of the winter timetable on March 28. Hong Kong flights will be reduced in March.
United Airlines will suspend all services between hub airport cities and Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai from February 6 until April 24.
Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will cancel flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu and more. Effective February 1, all new visitors who have travelled to mainland China within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore.
Turkish Airlines has suspended all flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Xi'an until the end of February. All flights to Iran, except the capital Tehran, are suspended until the 10th of March.
Virgin Atlantic will suspend all Heathrow-Shanghai operations until March 29. The airline will also adhere to new US government policy. Passengers who are due to travel to the United States and have been to China in the past 14 days may not be allowed to travel.
Thai Airways has reduced capacity on the following flights between Bangkok and mainland China.
RwandAir is suspending all flights between Kigali and Guangzhou. The airline says it will review the situation later in February.
Kenya Airways will suspend all flights to and from Guangzhou until March 28. Service between Nairobi and Bangkok remains operational.
Qatar has suspended flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou until March 31. Flights to Hangzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu are suspended until April 30.
Qantas will suspend two direct services between mainland China and Australia (Sydney-Beijing and Sydney-Shanghai) from February 9 until March 29. Any visitors to Singapore who have travelled to mainland China in the past 14 days will not be permitted to enter or transit Singapore.
