Correction: LH restructures GDS charges

18 Jul 2022

Correction: On Friday, the Travel News mailer went out with an incorrect headline for this story, which said the charges had been increased. Lufthansa Group has not increased the GDS charges but restructured them. In some cases they are lower than previously. Travel News apologises for the error.

The Lufthansa Group has announced that it will restructure its fees to agents who book fares on its airlines on the GDS, in order to reflect the airlines’ own GDS costs.

From September 1, the charge will be:

For bookings on Amadeus, US$18,50 (currently R318).

For bookings on Sabre, US$20,50 (currently R353).

For bookings on Travelport, Galileo, Apollo and Worldspan, US$24 (currently R413).

Lufthansa says the charge will continue to be applied via a YR tax code.
