Crystal Cruises has been building synergies with its new parent company Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) since its acquisition, and has now announced that the cruises will offer a variety of exclusive A&K excursions.
Following the acquisition of the two Crystal ships, the company has had less than a year to build itineraries, hire staff and secure excursion tours.
Crystal Serenity is already back in operation and Crystal Symphony is scheduled to launch on September 1, and the cruise line is preparing to offer some A&K-curated excursions by 2024. The company said these excursions would be typical of what luxury lines offered guests. However, in 2025, Crystal Cruises will have shore excursions specifically designed by A&K for Crystal’s voyages, reported travelweekly.com.
According to A&K, the aim is to create exclusive bucket-list-orientated events and experiences. An example is a multiple-day, overland adventure where guests would be able to climb Machu Picchu or visit the Galapagos, where Darwin conceptualised the ideas of natural selection and evolution.
A&K does provide excursions to other cruise lines, but it plans to offer exclusive Crystal excursions that will change every year. The tour operator will also offer tailored excursions based on the requests of individual guests.
