Hamad International Airport has revealed plans for its second expansion phase, which will feature a 10 000sqm indoor tropical garden and a 268sqm water feature.
The second phase of the airport’s expansion consists of phases A and B. Phase A will comprise the central concourse linking concourses D and E, with construction commencing by early 2020. Phase B, which will be completed after 2022, will extend concourses D and E.
A 9 000sqm lounge will be built and will be located opposite the tropical garden. The lounge will include spas, fitness centres and business centres.
Other features include a new transfer area that will help shorten passengers’ connection times.
