The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has banned RwandAir from its skies.
According to multiple media sources, the reason is the growing political tensions between Rwanda and the DRC over allegations that the Rwandan government is supporting the M23 rebels.
In response to the decision by DRC, RwandAir has, via its social media pages, confirmed the suspension of the flights. The airline posted an announcement on Twitter noting that it had decided to cancel all flights to Kinshasa, Lubumbashi and Goma with immediate effect.
In the same tweet, the airline offered to waive fees for change of reservation and also offered re-issues or refunds to those affected.
