Marriott International and V&A Waterfront Holdings have signed an agreement to open a new property within Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, marking the debut of EDITION Hotels in Africa.
Located at the edge of the planned Granger Bay development, The Cape Town EDITION is scheduled to open later this year with 142 guest rooms and suites, a rooftop bar, spa, pool, meeting and event facilities, and curated social spaces.
Additionally, the property will include six private residences: The Residences at The Cape Town EDITION.
“The signing of our first EDITION hotel in Africa marks a significant milestone for the company’s growth strategy on the continent. The V&A Waterfront is an iconic location and we are confident that this project will set a new standard for luxury hospitality in the market,” said Karim Cheltout, Marriott International Senior Vice President – Development, Middle East & Africa.
Shanghai-based architectural firm Neri & Hu is responsible for the design of the property in collaboration with local architect and design firm StudioMAS.
