As a part of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ initiative to enhance the country’s tourism offerings, the Grand Egyptian and the Greco-Roman museums have been redeveloped and will open this year.
The Grand Egyptian Museum is already partially open and, according to travelpulse.com, the remainder of its exhibits will debut in the Northern hemisphere spring this year.
The open sections of the museum include a 3 200-year-old statue of Ramses II, an immersive cinema experience portraying the reign of King Tutankhamun and a virtual journey of the Valley of the Kings. Exhibits comprise an array of statues, sarcophagi, and tablets that depict the stories of the ancient rulers of Egypt, according to irishnews.com.
In addition, the long-awaited reopening of the Greco-Roman Museum in Alexandria will finally happen later this year after 18 years of restoration. The historic gem will exhibit a selection of 6 000 artefacts from the era of Alexander the Great to the reign of Cleopatra.
