El Al will resume flights between Tel Aviv and Johannesburg. Flights from Johannesburg start from Tuesday, March 16, at 21h45, arriving in Tel Aviv at 06h30 the next day.
Flights will be once a week for the first two weeks, going to twice a week from March 29, with an additional flight on April 3.
Despite the restoration of flights, there is still no tourism allowed into Israel until the government specifically allows this. Travellers to Israel will have to file requests online with the government and will require documentation. According to the Times of Israel, Israel will allow only 3 000 residents per day into the country, with preference given to returning Israeli nationals ahead of the coming elections scheduled for March 23. There will be limited entry for foreign nationals granted, but only for exceptional circumstances.
