Ethiopian Airlines reported a total revenue of US$9,1 billion (R150,1 billion) for the 2025/26 fiscal year, a 20% increase on last year’s results.
The airline recorded an 8% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers, transporting 20,7 million passengers.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew announced the financial results at the airline’s annual performance briefing last week.
Despite the increased revenue, state-run Ethiopia News Agency reported that the airline’s financial performance had been affected by flight cancellations linked to the conflict in the Gulf, the suspension of services to some destinations due to US travel restrictions, and the cancellation of flights to the DRC.
