Fly-in Zambezi charter service launched

Gondwana Collection Namibia and Westair Aviation have launched a new Fly-in Zambezi service to improve connectivity to north-eastern Namibia.

The lodge-hopping air transfer connects lodges in Namibia’s Zambezi Region such as Namushasha River Villa and Zambezi Mubala Lodge, as well as regional destinations such as Victoria Falls, Kasane, and Maun.

Clients can book point-to-point lodge transfers or create custom lodge-hopping itineraries, with additional destinations available upon request.

For 2025, the service will operate on a charter-only basis, however from next year scheduled flights will be introduced three times a week, operating as circuit flights similar to the FlyNamibia Safari model.

This means travellers can fly to multiple Zambezi destinations on a structured schedule with set departure times and landing points. Additionally, the aircraft will still be available for private charter.

A Cessna Grand Caravan, based in Katima Mulilo will be used for both charter flights in 2025 and the scheduled service in 2026. If demand grows, additional aircraft may be added to the route.

This partnership is a 50/50 joint venture between the two companies. Operational facilitation lies with Westair Aviation, while the Gondwana Travel Centre will handle bookings as part of its travel packages.
