In a bid to encourage greener travel between France and Ireland, the two countries will introduce a combined ticket for travel by rail and ferry from the middle of next year. The single ticket will work on both countries’ two types of transport.
French President Emmanuel Macron and Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin, announced the decision to launch the ticket recently in Dublin.
The goal is to promote travel between Ireland and France in a sustainable and simple way at a reasonable price, with young travellers in particular encouraged to use the Franco-Irish ticket. Further details, such as price, are yet to be determined.
