Eurowings Discover has increased weekly flights between Frankfurt and Windhoek from seven to ten and reintroduced flights to Victoria Falls from the end of March, according to airspace-africa.com.
Lufthansa’s long-haul leisure airline is also changing its service on the two routes from a seasonal basis to year-round.
It is now offering three weekly direct connections on an Airbus A330, departing Frankfurt on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, to Victoria Falls with a short stopover in Windhoek, with return flights operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
On Twitter, Airport Company of Zimbabwe said the move to change the Victoria Falls service to year-round was due to high demand and the destination’s growing popularity among tourists.
Eurowings has fifth freedom rights, which allow it to carry passengers from Namibia to Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe to Namibia.
