Low-cost carrier, Wizz Air, is suspending all Abu Dhabi operations from September 1.
The decision follows a reassessment of market dynamics, operational challenges, and geopolitical developments in the Middle East. Wizz Air will suspend all locally based flight operations with plans to exit from the joint venture.
The airline will focus on its core markets in Central and Eastern Europe and selected Western European markets.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has faced increasing operational challenges, including engine reliability constraints, geopolitical volatility and regulatory barriers. These factors have impacted the airline’s ultra-low-cost model in the region and its ability to deliver profitability in line with European operations.
