GBTA Africa appoints president

GBTA Africa has appointed Kovilan Naidoo, Cummins’ travel manager for Africa, as its new president.

Naidoo will act as the lead buyer in the organisation with a remit to steer GBTA in developing a full advisory board and strategy across key Africa regions outside of Southern Africa during 2014. The role compliments the existing buyer leadership position held by Linda Basson of Accenture as head of the board for GBTA’s Southern Africa region.

“We were really impressed by Kovilan’s passion and knowledge. He clearly understands what an association like GBTA brings to professionals in our sector and can bring to the pan-African business travel community. His work across new regions for Cummins compliments our plans for expansion across the rest of Africa,” said Paul Tilstone, GBTA’s svp of global operations.
