Ghana signs SkyTrain construction concession

The construction of the Accra SkyTrain Project has been given the go-ahead by the Ghana government.

The US$2,6bn (R38bn) Concession Agreement was signed on the sidelines of this week’s Africa Investment Forum for the first SkyTrain Project. 

The high-speed public rail system is set to open in nine months.

The system will transport more than 380 000 passengers annually and create 5 000 jobs during its implementation phase

President Akufo-Addo’s signing of the agreement, means feasibility studies to determine the bankability of the project will commence soon.
