Is responsible tourism good for business?

WTM Africa will launch
a responsible tourism
programme at its inaugural
event in Cape Town next
month (May 2-3). Professor
Harold Goodwin, who
organises the same plan
at London’s WTM, has
compiled the programme.
It includes three events:
a debate on whether
responsible tourism is
good for businesses,
local communities and
economies, as well as
a discussion on how
responsible tourism can
be used for business
advantage; a session
focusing on environmental
responsibility; and a debate
on social responsibility and
child protection.
