Jock Safari Lodge introduces riverbed dining

Jock Safari Lodge in the south-west of the Kruger National Park, has introduced riverbed dining as a new option.

The lodge’s location at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers in the south-western corner of the Kruger National Park provides an opportunity for guests to enjoy a traditional, barbecue-style feast around a campfire.

The riverbed provides views across the wilderness where guests may see game. Diners are offered a range of gins, champagne, cold beer and a variety of other drinks while relaxing in vintage-style canvas safari chairs or on oversized Persian cushions.

A selection of fresh salads and a variety of meat off the grill are served, with traditional South African desserts served out of tin mugs.

Jock Safari Lodge was the first private concession within South Africa’s largest and most famous national park. The lodge accommodates 30 guests, in addition to the adjacent family-friendly camp, Fitzpatrick’s, which accommodates six guests.
