Kenan Ince spreads his wings

Kenan Ince, known to many in the local travel trade as Cape Town GM for Turkish Airlines for the past seven years, is moving to a new post in Georgia. Having now worked for the airline for almost a decade, he is set to begin the next chapter of his time with TK.

Ince is an experienced country manager with a demonstrated history of working in the aviation industry. He is skilled in marketing management, market research, market strategy, and business planning.

Last week, a farewell function for him was organised by Glyn Taylor and Gary Koetser, Joint CEOs of the Century City Hotel Conference Centre & Hotel.

Ince has had such an impact on partners during his time in South Africa that they wanted to arrange and host the function to bid him farewell, which was attended by about 30 of his closest friends. This included CEOs and GMs of the Cape Town consortiums, as well as other dignitaries, Turkish Airlines informed Travel News.

“Kenan is without a doubt the best airline manager that I have ever had the pleasure of working with in my travel career. He is, in my opinion, the reason why Turkish Airlines is one of the most successful airlines flying out of South Africa,” says Wally Gaynor, retired MD of the Club Travel Group.

“Kenan was very young and inexperienced when he arrived in Cape Town, but he was a quick learner and understood quickly the concept of relationships and partnerships, a concept that other airlines and their management spoke about but could never get right,” Gaynor adds.
