Earlier in the week, Travel News reported agents saying their clients had had to beat the clock to fulfil the Rapid Antigen test requirement before boarding KLM flights bound for Amsterdam https://www.travelnews.co.za/article/breaking-news-pax-flap-over-nerve-racking-test-window
KLM has sent out a release saying that to assist passengers, the airline has made arrangements with Travel Doctor Corporate for the additional Rapid Antigen test (now required by the Dutch government for passengers departing South Africa) to be taken.
Johannesburg flights
The airline says the testing facility is located at the departures level in terminal B, near to the check-in counters B1 to B13. The test station is open from 12h00 to 15h30.
KLM strongly recommends that passengers arrive at the airport by 12h00 to ensure that all the tests for the flight can be administered timeously and to avoid any delay.
KLM also advises that passengers travelling from ORTIA on Air France with their final destination Amsterdam, departing at 19h50, may use the NHLS testing station located on the lower level, in front of the Police Station. The airline strongly recommends that passengers arrive at the testing station by 15h00.
Cape Town flights
KLM advises that passengers travelling on KLM from Cape Town to Amsterdam, departing 16h00, may be tested at the Airport Clinic, located on the ground floor at International Arrivals, between 11h00 and 14h00. KLM recommends that passengers arrive at the testing facility by 11h00.
In each case, the cost of this additional rapid antigen test is at the passenger’s expense.
Passengers need to register and fill in the test form enrolment http://www.bit.ly/AntigenORT. They will then receive, by email, an invoice and a link to proceed to payment.
The carrier emphasises that the test is mandatory and that passengers who fail to take the test will not be allowed to board the aircraft.
