Foreign exchange company Travelex has launched two automated, self-service currency kiosks at Heathrow Airport.

According to internationalairportreview.com, the kiosks were installed within the Travelex departures store at Terminal 2. Customers use touchscreens to place their orders before collecting cash from one of three designated ATMs, enabling a fully automated service requiring no human interaction.

Customers can choose from an initial five currencies reflecting the main currency profiles in Terminal 2 (Euro, Swiss Franc, Australian, Canadian and US dollars). There are no cash withdrawal limits and Travelex sales consultants are on hand to provide customer support.

“The launch of fully automated FX services is part of Heathrow’s recent digital acceleration, offering passengers greater choice on how they journey through Heathrow,” said LHR Director of Retail, Fraser Brown.

Last year, Travelex launched the first ATM click and collect forex service in Australia and the UK, which has been expanded across Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham airports.
