Carnival Corporation has now reinstated its mask mandate across all its cruise lines operating in Australia. The change comes in reaction to the docking of Princess Cruises’ Majestic Princess in Sydney with 800 positive COVID cases on November 12.
Effective immediately, all ships with Carnival Cruises, Princess Cruises, P&O Australia, Holland America Line, Cunard Line and Seabourn Cruise Line require guests and crew to wear masks at all times indoors, unless eating or drinking. Masks are also required outdoors when social distancing is not possible.
“The past two years have seen all industries, including ours, strengthen their health and safety protocols. At the same time, a majority of the population is now vaccinated. At a time when Australia is faced with a rapid rise of COVID cases, it’s critical everyone plays their part in keeping the community safe, and we thank our guests for abiding by our requirements,” a statement from Carnival Australia reads.
