Meet Tessa Reed

Comments | 0

TESSA Reed, currently editor

of SA Tourism Update, will be

taking over as editor of TNW

from the end of July.

Tessa’s background as

a journalist has been with

trade publications. She

joined Tourism Update from

IT Web in 2014.

With Tessa as editor,

Tourism Update became

one of the few media to

profitably make the transition

from print to online.

Deputy publisher Natasha

Schmidt, a previous TNW

editor herself, announced

this week that the

incumbent editor,

Taryn Nightingale,

will be leaving

South Africa to

join her partner in

Switzerland.

“Taryn has been

a hugely popular

TNW editor, so while we are

happy for her, it is a great

loss. It is fortunate that we

have someone proven like

Tessa to take up the baton,”

she said.

“TNW has surprised many

by going from strength

to strength in

tumultuous times

for both print

media and the

travel industry.

We believe

immersive

engagement in the

industry supported

by online tools like the

recent survey series on

employment conditions in

the industry, is the way to

go to see the printed TNW

continue to flourish. Tessa is

well equipped to make that

happen,” Natasha said.
