Montecasino's games begin

CONSTRUCTION of the luxury Southern Sun Palazzo Inter-Continental hotel at the R1,4billion Montecasino leisure, entertainment, hospitality and retail development in Fourways, Johannesburg, is complete and work has begun on the interior design, bringing it well on track for its scheduled end of November opening.
So reports general manager of Montecasino, Gavin Rimmer, who also announced that the casino floor at the development has been handed over to international gaming company, MGM Grand, which has a management arrangement to run Tsogo Sun's gaming operations.
"The project team has also handed over to the individual restaurants to begin the installation of the interiors."
The interior - as was the case with the exterior - for the Montecasino development and the Palazzo Inter-continental hotel was well-researched in Tuscany and will reflect and recall the style of an authentic old Tuscan villa, reports Rimmer.
The hotel will offer 213 standard luxury rooms, 21 de-luxe rooms, ten luxury suites and two presidential suites, offering a two-storey health spa and facilities for business meetings and functions from ten 60 people.
