More changes for Carnival’s loyalty scheme

Carnival Cruise Line has updated its new Carnival Rewards loyalty programme for current Diamond and Platinum guests and those who reach this level prior to the launch date of June 1, 2026.

Among the changes announced:

  • Guests who achieve Diamond status in the current Very Important Fun Person (VIFP) Club by May 31, 2026, will receive Diamond status until 2032 and lifetime Diamond status in the Carnival Rewards programme.
  • Guests who achieve Platinum status in the current VIFP Club by May 31, 2026, will have their status extended until 2028 and will receive a biennial boost of 10 000 Carnival Rewards status when the new programme is introduced.
  • Children under 18 will enjoy the same status as their guardian, and when they turn 18, those who have achieved Diamond or Platinum status by May 31, 2026, will be invited to opt in to Carnival Rewards with their earned status.

In June, Carnival Cruises announced its new loyalty programme, which will come into effect in June 2026.

Under the new programme, instead of earning rewards based on the number of nights guests sail (the current model Carnival follows), passengers will earn rewards and achieve higher status levels based on spend, including cruise fare and onboard activities.
