Workers at Heathrow Express are to stage more strikes in a dispute over disciplinary action taken against two employees.
Members of the Rail Maritime and Transport union will walk out for nine hours from 03h00 GMT on March 24 and for 12 hours from 11h00 GMT on March 25. The union has held two strikes in protest at the sacking of a driver and action against another worker.
Meanwhile the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport representatives rejected a revised offer on work conditions and pay during this year’s Olympic Games in London. A convening of 150 RMT officials refused the offer as it excludes drivers and administrative workers, and proposed that the union executive seek bonus pay for all workers, the labour union said today in an e-mailed statement. The suggestion will be considered by the executive this week, the union said.
