Mpongo Private Game Reserve completes renovations
Premier Hotels & Resorts has invested over R18 million to accommodate the increase in visitors for both leisure and business at the malaria-free Premier Resort Mpongo Private Game Reserve.
Situated 30km outside East London in the Eastern Cape, the private game reserve offers a unique blend of luxury and wildlife experiences on more than 3 500 hectares of conservation land, and is home to animals such as elephants, lions (including rare white lions), buffaloes, hippos, giraffes, numerous antelope and over 200 bird species.
Two new lodges have been built as part of the upgrades – Indlovu Lodge and Umthombe Bush Villa. Perched on the hilltop overlooking the reserve, the Indlovu Lodge has 19 rooms and two dormitories able to cater for up to 40 people.
The Umthombe Bush Villa is ideal for both family escapes and corporate groups and has five bedrooms, a boardroom/games room, braai area, swimming pool and lounge/dining room.
There have also been renovations to the restaurant, upgrades to the Edu-Centre and the construction of new administration offices.
The resort has a selection of specials running throughout winter this year.
