MSC has ordered four next-generation cruise ships, with options for two more, from German shipbuilder, Meyer Werft, formally launching its new ‘New Frontier’ class.
The New Frontier ships, each weighing 180 000 gross tonnes, will have a maximum passenger capacity of 5 400 and be delivered annually from 2030.
“The New Frontier class will enable us to design new and exclusive itineraries, offer exceptional guest experience and will feature next-generation environmental technologies that will advance our nett-zero 2050 commitment,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises.
