The Golden Peacock Villa Hotel in Mutare in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands, has completed construction of a new wing with 54 rooms and a 400-seat conferencing facility. The hotel now has 137 guest rooms and six conference facilities that can cater for up to 1 370 guests.

Food and beverage manager, Willard Madhombiro, said the hotel was already taking guests in the new wing as well as the rest of the hotel.

Standard rooms are air-conditioned and have two three-quarter beds, hairdryer, tea-making facilities and a mini bar fridge. A turn-down service and free WiFi are provided. Deluxe and executive rooms are more spacious.

The state-of-the-art conference facilities offer overhead projectors, PA systems, podiums, free WiFi connectivity, as well as morning and high tea.

The Eastern Highlands is home to the Nyanga National Park, and the Mutarazi Falls in the Mutarazi National Park, the highest waterfall in Zimbabwe and second-highest in Africa. Activities include hiking, day walks, golf, cycling, trout fishing, bird watching and game drives.
