New accommodation offering in the Cape Winelands

New Cape Winelands accommodation establishment, The Hazendal, has officially opened its doors. Situated in the grounds of the expansive Hazendal Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, The Hazendal combines striking modern design elements with historic Cape Dutch architecture

Each of the 34 rooms has been individually decorated and stocked with every modern convenience. Original artworks curated by the inhouse Marvol Gallery showcase a variety of up-and-coming South African talent. In every room guests can expect to find Smart TVs, pod coffee machines, air-conditioning, WiFi, and Africology bath products. Rooms can be set up in a twin or king configuration.

All 31 Superior and Luxury rooms open on to patios furnished with comfortable modern swing chairs. Each room has a view of the pool deck or the majestic Stellenbosch mountains. The additional two suites offer private Jacuzzis.

The piece-de-resistance is The Hazendal’s 122 sqm Presidential Suite, offering a king-size bed. The suite deck features a patio lounge suite and its own private Jacuzzi.

The new spa at The Hazendal offers massages, facials, and detox treatments in the single and couple treatment rooms. There is also a fully equipped nail studio, a Hammam area, and a lakeside treatment pod.

The restaurant, next to The Hazendal’s courtyard, also opens this month. Under the direction of the estate’s Executive Chef Michelle Theron, this new establishment will complete the vast food and beverage offerings already available at Hazendal Wine Estate, offering a refined menu.

A new bar, adjacent to the golf course, has also opened. Here guests can enjoy mountain views while sampling Hazendal’s fine wines, the estate’s own range of vodka, and its signature cocktails. An opulent cigar lounge furnished with leather couches and botanical-style wallpaper is next to the bar.

The Hazendal completes the estate offering

Director of Hazendal Wine Estate, Simone Voloshin, explains that in the eight years since the Voloshin family started their extensive renovation and development of Hazendal Wine Estate, it had become apparent that a luxury hotel, in the grounds of the estate, was needed to complete the experience.

“As our wedding, conference and event bookings picked up, guests kept asking us where they could find a nearby hotel of a similar standard to the five-star offerings available at our estate.”

Hazendal Wine Estate is managed by Newmark Hotels & Reserves. “In more than 15 years since Newmark was founded, we have been on the lookout for the right property in the Cape Winelands to partner with. Hazendal Wine Estate, and The Hazendal, complements our offering perfectly and allows Newmark guests to extend their Cape Town stay and see more of South Africa with a visit to the Winelands,” said CEO of Newmark Hotels & Reserves, Neil Markovitz.
