Air France will make its new long-haul cabins available exclusively on board its Airbus A330s, serving destinations in Africa, North America and India.
Destinations
The first flight equipped with the new cabins took off from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Accra on February 3.
Until March 30, the new cabins will be available on flights to Accra, Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), and Houston (USA). From March 31 until October 26, flights to Cotonou (Benin), Lagos (Nigeria), Niamey (Niger), Bengaluru and Delhi (India), Seattle, Chicago, and Dallas (USA) will also be served by the A330 with the new cabins.
Business class
The new business-class cabins have 36 seats that convert into a 2m-long, 57cm-wide lie-flat bed. The seats also feature a sliding panel that can be used to increase privacy during the fight.
Business class will also see a new 47cm HD touch-screen with over 1 400 hours of entertainment options.
Premium economy
The 21 premium-economy seats have a 130-degree recline and a width of 49cm. Seat pitch is 102cm, and the screen is 34cm. There is also be additional storage space and a wider footrest.
Each passenger has a personal power outlet and two USB ports.
Economy
Features on the 167 economy-class seats include greater space between armrests, 118-degree recline, 79cm of leg-room, a larger tray table, and a wider, 29cm HD screen.
Passengers also have a personal power outlet and a USB plug for their personal devices.
Connectivity
All the new A330 cabins will feature Air France’s new Air France CONNECT WiFi offering. Customers will have various WiFi passes accessible from their personal devices.
These include: Message pass, allowing passengers to send and receive message from messaging apps on their smartphone or tablet, or free access to the Air France website and app; Surf pass, allowing customers to browse the web or access emails, with prices ranging from €3 to €18 (R46 to R276) depending on the length of the flight; and Stream pass, which is available on all long-haul flights and combines both the Message and Surf pass, with a high-speed connection for streaming or downloading content during the flight, at a cost of €30 (R460).
