New camp opens in Okavango Delta

Jumbo Junction, a new camp in the northern Okavango Delta, opened recently, and is represented by On Demand Hospitality Solutions, a marketing agency specialising in tailored project-based tourism sales services.

The camp consists of two chalets and six tents with en-suite bathrooms. They are positioned along the waterfront and amongst the tree line, providing the utmost privacy. Some rooms include a relaxing seating area.

The main space has a comfortable lounge and dining area with WiFi.

“A refreshing swimming pool with a deck overlooking the Okavango floodplains provides the perfect vantage point for observing golden sunrises. Additionally, a nearby jetty ensures easy access to the Delta and a range of water-based activities, making Jumbo Junction an excellent basecamp for exploring NG12, also known as the Mapula Concession or the Okavango Sekwana Concession, featuring iconic landscapes and a rich variety of wildlife. Activities include mokoro (canoe) trips, open-vehicle game drives, guided walks, and more.

"In my 25-year tourism journey, I've collaborated with various tourism clients. I'm fortunate to work closely with every On-Demand marketing client, supporting their in-house marketing teams. Jumbo Junction has a compelling story to tell, and for me, it's a career highlight to be part of the iconic Okavango Delta narrative at Jumbo Junction, a unique place where rural communities coexist with wildlife," said Jumbo Owner of On Demand, Rudi Wagenaar.

Jumbo Junction also has a boma with a fire pit, a kitchen, bar, hairdresser/barber,  barbecue/picnic area, and an on-site restaurant.

The camp is located on a seasonal tributary of the Selinda spillway and has scenic views of deep-water channels and riverine forest islands.

Known particularly for its lions, the 89 000ha concession offers a diverse game-viewing experience with large concentrations of wildlife year-round.
