TOA Hotel & Spa, a new luxury beach hotel on a private white-sand beach in Pongwe on the east coast of Zanzibar, is due to open in May.
The hotel will offer 86 guest rooms, three swimming pools with ocean views, three bars, a restaurant, a spa with treatment rooms, a sun deck and a gym.
Each en-suite room has a balcony or terrace and a king-size bed with mosquito nets. Larger rooms have private plunge pools, and some also feature relaxing whirlpools.
Activities at the hotel or nearby include snorkelling, diving, tours of a spice farm, tours to historic Stone Town and Prison Island, and swimming with turtles and dolphins.
TOA Hotel & Spa is just a 50-minute drive from Zanzibar International Airport.
