New scanners halve wait times

A year after their implementation, London City Airport has released the results of its high-tech security scanners, showing a decrease in waiting times and increased customer satisfaction.

Data from the airport reveals that the new scanners cut wait times in half for passengers going through security. The scanners, which allow passengers to keep over 100ml of liquid and their laptops in their bags through security, detect prohibited items with greater accuracy. Passengers travelling from London City Airport can carry up to two litres of liquid.

Passenger feedback at the airport showing that 80% of travellers were happy with their experience since the new technology was introduced.

London City Airport has taken the lead in the UK by being the first major airport to fully implement the scanners. While other UK airports are still in the process of installing these scanners, the government has extended the deadline to ensure all UK airports are equipped with this advanced technology.
